These instructions are fundamental for correct use and operation of the luminaire.
After installation, they should therefore be kept safely for future use.
GENERAL NOTES
• Conformity: European standards EN 60598-1:2008+A11:2009, EN 60598-2-2/A1
and EN 60598-2-22/A2 (for emergency luminaires), EC Directives LV 2006/95/CE
EMC 2004/108/CE.
• The SUPERTECHNE line consists of recessed luminaires for indoor use only or
installed in dry recesses, free of acids, oils and grease.
• The degree of protection of these luminaires varies as follows:
luminaires with safety glass and solid bezel
IP44
(exposed part)
and IP20 (recessed part);
luminaires without safety glass or with safety glass and bezel with
AVS system
IP23
(exposed part) and IP20 (recessed part);
• All luminaires in the SUPERTECHNE range are suitable for direct mounting on
normally inflammable surfaces.
In particular, for
recessed luminaires, ensure the sides of the luminaire are at
least 50 mm from the recess. The top of the luminaire may, on the other hand, be
in direct contact with normally inflammable material. Fit the spacer provided
where called for (fig.
).
They should under no circumstances be covered with insulating material.
The remote control
gear must be placed at
the side a minimum
distance of 300 mm
away and at least 50
mm from the side of
the recess; if the cable
connecting the control
gear (type Y) is damaged, it should be replaced by Reggiani SpA, its Technical
Service or by duly qualified personnel (fig.
).
•
The number enclosed in the symbol
i
ndicates the minimum distance
(metres) at which the object to be illuminated should be placed. This distance is
measured along the optical axis of the luminaire, from the lamp side to the
nearest object to be illuminated.
Light sensitive objects could become discoloured if exposed to the action of the
sun’s rays or artificial light sources. In order to increase safety and exposure time,
use of low UV emission lamps ("UV-STOP lamps") is recommended.
Important:
the efficiency of the UV filter depends on the level of illumination
(Lux), distance of the light source, duration of exposure and light sensitivity of the
individual objects. REGGIANI SPA ILLUMINAZIONE declines all liability for the
possible deterioration of exposed objects.
•
In the event of damage or breakage of safety shield
,
these must
absolutely be replaced before the luminaire is turned on, ordering them from
REGGIANI SPA ILLUMINAZIONE.
Important:
luminaires may only be used if complete with the safety shield
provided.
• In the case of
ultra-low voltage luminaires
(QR-CB), characterized by very
high current, the attached indicative table should be consulted (table
) before
proceeding with installation to evaluate the cable section required.
Use high
temperature resistant cable
to
connect the lamp and ballast.
Important:
compliance with standards is
guaranteed only if the luminaire is powered
by a safety transformer, or equivalent,
complying with current standards.
Ultra-low voltage luminaires marked with
the symbol
do not require earthing.

•
The symbol
indicates that the luminaire is subject to a voltage surge of 4.5 kV
when the lamp is turned on. During installation or replacement of the lamp,
maximum attention should therefore be paid in order to prevent all risks deriving
from the voltage. In particular,
the lamp must be connected with cables resistant
to the voltage surge of 4.5 kV occurring when the lamp is turned on, rated at
no
less than H05S-K (silicone rubber) with a max. cross section of 1.5 mm
2
and outer
protective sheath with a max. dia. of 8 mm, respecting the polarities, namely, the
terminal (the central terminal of the lampholder) must correspond to the LAMP
terminal of the control gear.
Important
: with the lamp at the end of its working life (degeneration of the
luminous flux) the lamp must be replaced in order to prevent serious damage to
the control gear with possible effects on the installation itself.
• For optimum use of discharge lamps,
mains voltage variations must be /-
3% of the rated values given on the rating plate.
•
To connect to the mains, use flexible cables with double insulated wires, bipolar
for Class II luminaire
and tripolar for Class I luminaires
,
rated at no less
than type H07 RN F, with a cross section of between 1.5 and 2.5 mm
2
, and outer
protective sheath with a max. dia. of 8 mm.
• It is also important to respect the specified polarities: Phase -F/L-pole or terminal
1-, Neutral -N pole or terminal 2- and, for Class I luminaires, Earth -pole
using the yellow/green cable.
After connecting, cover the terminals with the
cable gland.
• For
external wiring of luminaires for emergency use, if the power supply comes
from a three-phase system, it is vital to use separate lines of the same phase. It
is also important to respect the specified polarities: Ordinary Phase - terminal 3-
, Ordinary Neutral - terminal N-; Primary Phase –terminal 2-, Primary neutral -
terminal 1-.
N. B.
The
primary line should never be interrupted unless deliberately for
maintenance.
±
Luminous flux in emergency use: 60 seconds after the power failure and
throughout the rated duration time, about 20% of the luminous flux of the lamp
in ordinary operation.
±
Rated duration time
in emergency use: 2 hours for lamps up to 26W and 1 hour
for 32/42W FSMH lamps.
±
Batteries: Ni/Cd, max 50°C, maintenance-free; 3.6 V - 4Ah for lamps up to 26W
and 6V - 4Ah for 32/42W FSMH lamps.
±
The
green LED indicates normal operation of the inverter-battery circuit.
±
In two-lamp emergency luminaires, a
green dot on the lampholder identifies the
emergency circuit lamp.
±
Operation of the emergency lighting system should be checked every six months
and the batteries completely run down and recharged to maintain efficiency.
Batteries should be
replaced every four years or when the duration time is
reduced.
±
Recharging: 24 hours.
• The
, symbol, specific to luminaires with HF control gear, indicates that the
unit may be powered by either direct or alternating current with a voltage of
between 198V and 254V.
