Safety
Proper use
The REF-CLASS GAUGE can be used as a calibration device and for any purpose for
which highly precise pressure measurement is required. The REF-CLASS GAUGE is
designed and built solely for the intended use described here and may only be used
accordingly. The technical specifications in this operating manual must be adhered to.
The REF-CLASS GAUGE must be handled with the required care (protect against
moisture, impact, strong magnetic fields, static electricity, and extreme temperatures,
do not insert objects into the device or openings). Protect plugs and sockets from dirt.
If the REF-CLASS GAUGE is transported from a cold to a warm environment,
condensation may affect the functioning of the device. Wait until the temperature of the
device reaches the room temperature before switching it on again. Any claims due to
improper use are excluded.
Qualified personnel
The REF-CLASS GAUGE may be used only by qualified personnel. Qualified
personnel can carry out the work described and identify potential hazards due to their
technical training, knowledge of measuring and control technology, and experience
with and knowledge of the country-specific regulations and applicable standards.
Special conditions of use require additional relevant knowledge, e.g. about aggressive
media.
Warning!
If the REF-CLASS GAUGE is overloaded or subjected to a sudden jolt
(e.g. from dropping), it must undergo a safety check for damage. If in
doubt, the REF-CLASS GAUGE can be returned to REFCO for
assessment. The REF-CLASS GAUGE is not designed for use with
flammable substances and may be used only in locations with the
corresponding protection against penetration of foreign bodies or water
that could impair safety.
Note
If the message "OL" appears, the measurement range has been
exceeded and the pressure source must be removed immediately from
the REF-CLASS GAUGE to prevent damage to the internal pressure
transducer.
