Generating pressure
Warning!
Never activate the changeover valve when the manual test pump is under
pressure or vacuum! Switch over only when the relief valve is open.
Warning!
Do not disassemble the REF-CLASS GAUGE or the test specimen until
the relief valve is open and there is thus no longer pressure in the manual
test pump.
Before generating pressure, the changeover valve may need to be activated (see
sticker on the pump) using a pen or a small screwdriver.
- Attach a suitable adapter if necessary to connect the test specimen to the REF-
CLASS GAUGE.
- Connect the test specimen to the pressure connector for the test specimen. Ensure
seal tightness of the connection.
- Ensure that the pressure relief valve is slightly open.
- Switch on the display of the REF-CLASS GAUGE.
- Screw the fine adjustment valve out counterclockwise almost completely until slight
resistance is felt (the thread becomes very smooth-running shortly before the "stop").
- Screw the pressure relief valve in clockwise cautiously until the valve closes. No "hard
stop" is felt here.
- Pump the manual test pump until the approximate desired pressure is reached,
however, generally not more than 20 ... 25 bar.
- Turn the fine adjustment valve clockwise to increase pressure or counterclockwise to
reduce pressure until the exact desired pressure is reached (can be seen on the
REF-CLASS GAUGE display).
You can reduce pressure by first turning the fine adjustment valve
counterclockwise and then cautiously turning the pressure relief valve.
