b) Adjusting the Tooth Profile Clearance
Check the tooth profile clearance at regular intervals. The tooth profile clearance has to be adjusted at the latest when
the electric motor, the motor pinion or the main pinion is exchanged.
To do this loosen the two fastening screws securing the electric motor so that you can move the motor carefully in the
direction of the main pinion. The cog/pinion cover needs to be removed prior to this.
The motor pinion and the main pinion now engage without clearance.
Place a thin strip of paper between the motor pinion and the main pinion, now move the main pinion by hand so that
the paper strip is pulled in between the two cogs.
The paper positioned between the cogs lifts the electric motor as far as is necessary to ensure the correct clearance.
Now fasten the fastening screws of the motor again in this position.
When you turn back the main pinion afterwards so that the paper strip can be taken out again, the correct clearance
will be set between the cogs.
The pinions should not run without any clearance (motor pinion too close to the main pinion), they
should, however, not have too much clearance either.
In both cases this will greatly reduce the lifetime of the plastic cogs. When there is no clearance, the
main pinion teeth wear rapidly, when the clearance is too great the teeth on the main pinion will literally
be ground off by the motor pinion.
c) Changing the Crystal
There are not allowed to be any other transmitter/models with the same frequency in the range of the transmitter, as
the transmitters will interfere with each other. As a result, the models no longer respond correctly to the transmitter
commands. If there are other model vehicles in your range, talk to the other operators about the frequencies they use.
Only use suitable accessory crystals for the transmitter and the receiver.
Prior to a quartz change, first turn off the vehicle and then the transmitter.
The transmitter crystals are labelled "T" or "TX", the receiver crystal is marked "R" or "RX" . Do not mix up the crystals
as correct function will no longer be possible.
