h) Checking the Drive and Steering Functions
Before each operation of the vehicle, check that the transmitter settings are correct and that the vehicle responds
correspondingly to control commands.
As previously explained in chapter 9. f), the vehicle is to be placed on a suitable surface such as a
cardboard box or similar so that the wheels can turn freely.
• Set the drive/throttle trim (see chapter 7, pos. 7) so that the drive does not move when the lever (10) is released.
• Set the steering trim (see chapter 7, pos. 6) so that the wheels are aligned forward when the dial (9) is released.
• Make sure that steering reacts appropriately to steering dial (9) movements. If the wheels react in the opposite
direction (dial to the left, wheel to the right), then move the reverse switch (4) into the other position.
• Make sure that drive/throttle reacts appropriately to lever (10) movements. If necessary reverse the forward/reverse
drive with the reverse switch (5). Ensure that you refer to chapter 9. j).
i) Attaching and Fastening the Vehicle Body
Guide the tube of the antenna from underneath the vehicle body through the hole intended for that purpose. If no hole
is present, then you can make one using an appropriate tool.
Now put the vehicle body on the holders and fasten the vehicle lining with the safety clips you removed at the start.
Your vehicle is now ready for its first test run!
j) Controlling the Vehicle
Operate the lever (10) for the drive/throttle function very cautiously and do not drive too fast at the
beginning until you get used to the reactions of the vehicle to control movements.
Do not make quick jerky movements on the lever (10) or dial (9).
If the vehicle shows a tendency to pull towards the left or the right, set the steering trim on the transmitter accordingly
(see chapter 7, pos. 6).
When changing between going forward and reverse, the throttle has to be briefly (approx. 1 second) in the centre
position (centre position = motor not moving).
When the throttle lever is directly pushed from forward to reverse, the brake function of the drive is activated (vehicle
will NOT reverse!).
The drive control unit can be switched between "forwards/brake" and "forwards/brake/reverse". Reverse
drive is obviously only possible when the corresponding function in activated.
