4.2.1 Procedure to install batteries
1.
Slide the batteries into the SunRise starting with Battery
#1 position just below the BMU, as shown below. There
must be either zero batteries or a minimum of x5
batteries for the SunRise to operate correctly. This is
because the inverter requires a minimum battery voltage
to recognise the battery.
2.
Screw two locking screws in to hold each battery in place.
The image at right shows the nuts already in place ready
for the bolts to hold the battery in place. Only 2 are
required per battery.
3.
Connect the DC cables as shown below, starting with
BMU to Battery #1 using the cable with the
orange/orange plugs, which should already be
connected to the BMU. Then install the supplied shorter
battery cables with one orange and one black plug onto
the appropriate battery terminals. Note that you will
need to use the longer cable with orange/black plugs to
connect Battery #4 to battery #5. The last cable is the
longer cable with black/black plugs which goes from the
black terminal of the last battery in the string to the black
terminal on the BMU.
4.
Next connect the supplied RJ45 communication cables
from the BMU to each battery in a daisy-chain. Start with
the RJ45 cable from the BMU Link Port to the Link Port 0
of Battery #1. The next RJ45 cable is then connected
from Link Port 1 of Battery #1 to Link Port 0 of Battery
#2. Continue until all batteries are connected in a daisy-
chain. Note that you will need to use the longer RJ45
provided in the Parts kit to connect Battery #4 Link Port
1 to Battery #5 Link Port 0.
