Visual inspection of all
safety strips
– Select the MANUAL operating
mode.
– Visually inspect all safety strips.
– The safety strips must not have
any mechanical damage and they
must be installed correctly and
firmly over the entire length.

Function test
BDE-V key switch
– Start the turnstile rotating in
AUTOMATIC or CONTINUOUS
mode.
– Turn the key switch to the right to
LOCKED.
– Turn the key switch to the left to
UNLOCKED.
– The turnstile rotates to the locked
position and locks.
– The turnstile unlocks and goes
back to AUTOMATIC mode.

Function test key emer-
gency switch
– Start the turnstile rotating in
AUTOMATIC or CONTINUOUS
mode.
– Turn the key emergency switch to
the left or right for approx. 5
seconds.
– The turnstile rotates at slow speed
in the predefined direction of rota-
tion.
– When the key emergency switch is
released the turnstile will stop im-
mediately! The operating mode
can be changed wit the BDE-D-
KTA.

– Start the turnstile rotating in
AUTOMATIC operating mode.
– Press the emergency stop button.
– Reset the emergency stop button.
– The turnstile must stop immedi-
ately.
– After resetting the turnstile will
start again.

Function test disabled
button
– Start the turnstile rotating in
AUTOMATIC or ONEWAY mode.
– The turnstile rotates at slow speed
in the CONTIUOUS operating
mode.
– Press the disabled button.
– Perform this test from the interior
and the exterior of the door.
– The turnstile must reduce speed
but continue to rotate at a slow
constant speed for at least 360°.
– The slow rotational speed is main-
tained even when a disabled but-
ton is pressed.

Function test start but-
ton
– Select LOCKED mode and wait for
the turnstile to stop. Remember in
which segment the start button is
located.
– Enter into the particular segment
and wait for the turnstile to come
to a stop and lock. Then press the
start button.
– When the start button is pressed
the turnstile starts and turns one
complete rotation, stops in the
home position and locks again.
The person is able to exit the door.
CAUTION
Danger of people being trapped inside the turnstile.
a) Bruises and contusions through from the turnstile wing.

Visual inspection, check whether people are trapped inside.
Function test locked
mode
– Select LOCKED operating mode.
Do not enter the door!
– Verify whether the turnstile is
locked by trying to push it manu-
ally.
– The turnstile will lock securely.
