Passengers who leave an aircraft directly and walk through corridors 80 to 150 meters wide reach the
FlipFlow entrance door in a continuous stream. Such a situation can be managed permanently and
continuously by a single FlipFlow without the need for waiting times before entering the tunnel.
Passengers arriving in small groups of fifty may have to wait a few minutes before crossing the tun-
nel.
Passengers arriving in large groups of 500 or more are usually taken to the terminal by bus, which
can result in very long waiting times for the last passengers. If the bus arrives before the FlipFlow, a
group size of 500 people prevents even access to the FlipFlow. Here a single FlipFlow is not suffi-
cient.
In all three cases, however, the average passenger flow per hour is identical.
A FlipFlow TWIN can handle around 1500 to 2000 people per hour in FLOW mode. Of course, the
throughput rate decreases if a single passenger interrupts the flight in any way.

In the INTERLOCK mode, the waiting time for the number of disembarking passengers is similar.
It must be noted that the flow rate in INTERLOCK mode is distinctly reduced. Flow rate is now
between 800 - 1000 persons per hour.
The complete cycle for one person lasts about 5 seconds.
