Replacing the protective window
The following figure shows how the protective window can be replaced. This, for example, is
necessary in case of deposits on the protective window which cannot be removed by cleaning. As an
alternative to replacing the protective window, you can also order an Output Plate with the protective
window completely assembled from RAYLASE.
Depending on the design of the deflection unit, one of the three variants of the output plates
illustrated may be used:
6.3.1
Variations 1 and 2
1
Output plate
4
Retaining ring/strip
2
Compensating ring
5
Screws for the output plate
3

6

The opening of the deflection unit must be done in a dust-protected environment. If dust deposits on
the optics, it burns in during operation by the laser radiation so that the optics will be destroyed.
1.
Remove the five screws (5) holding the output plate (1).
2.
Lift the output plate carefully from the deflection unit.
3.
Remove the retaining screws (6) or the retaining ring (4) of the protective window (3).
4.
Remove the protective window.
Install the new protective window in reverse order. Make sure that the compensation/sealing ring(s)
are in the correct position. Be careful not to touch the optically relevant surfaces of the protective
window and remove dust particles on the optical surfaces.
