3.4 Sensor heads

The 4 motorised measuring heads , installed on the lift, run a guide along the
platforms. When not in use, the heads position themselves at the far end of the
platforms, to facilitate the placement of the targets on the wheels.
Simultaneously, a self-checking procedure is starter to constantly grant the utmost
measuring precision
The measurement units consist of infra-red data transceivers and CCD type transducers
with infra-red emission focal point.
Data transmission between the infra-red sensors is effective even in critical lighting
conditions.
Data transmission from the lift platforms to the console is VIA RADIO by means of
modules contained inside the lift platforms and inside the console.
The rear measuring heads feature a display screen which ensures easier registration of
the rear vehicle axle.
Each measuring head features a keyboard with “Green” key (forward), “Grey” key
(confirm) and “Red” key (reverse), that can be used during vehicle diagnosis and
registration operations, thus avoiding having to use the keyboard on the console.
