Connecting to LAN
You can operate the R&S
SMB100B via LAN (local area network) or you can
operate it locally. This section describes how to connect the instrument to a LAN
to operate or control the instrument remotely via a PC in a LAN.
The connector is located on the
► Connect the LAN socket via an RJ-45 cable to the LAN.
By default, the R&S
SMB100B is configured to use DHCP (dynamic host configu-
ration protocol) and no static IP address is configured.
If switched on and connected to the LAN, the R&S
SMB100B displays the
address information on the screen.

Connecting USB Devices
USB connectors are located on the
. You can connect
or disconnect all USB devices from the R&S
SMB100B during operation.
To connect USB storage devices
USB storage devices, such as memory sticks, allow easy data transfer from/to the
R&S
SMB100B. You can also use them for firmware updates.
► Connect the USB storage device to any of the USB connectors.
