The resulting RSS helps distinguish between
the states A-A and C-C which appear similar.
It also helps in situations where simple search
for a maximum doesn’t work as shown in the
illustration “incorrect adjustment”.

Real radiation diagrams are more complex,
especially in that they run differently in horizont-
al and vertical axes. The basic steps for determ-
ining the main radiation lobe however stay
