User Manual 3162A/B

Maintenance and Performance Checks 5-12

Sine Flatness

Level Flatness: 

±10% to 10 MHz; ±30% to 200 MHz

Equipment:

 Oscilloscope

1. 

Configure the Model 3162B as follows:

Function:

 Sine wave

Frequency:  10.00 kHz
Amplitude:

 3 V

Remote Commands: :RES

:FREQ 10e3
:VOLT 3
:OUTP ON
:INST:SEL B
:VOLT 3
:OUTP ON

2. 

Connect the Model 3162B OUTPUT to the oscilloscope, set the
oscilloscope input impedance to 50

Ω

, and set oscilloscope to

display the sinewave within exactly 6 vertical divisions. Repeat this
step for channel B.

3. 

Change the Model 3162B FREQ setting to 100 MHz. Verify that
peak-to-peak of the displayed sinewave is within 5.4 to 6.6 divisions.
Repeat this step for channel B.

4. 

Change the Model 3162B FREQ setting to 200 MHz. Verify that
peak-to-peak of the displayed sinewave is within 4.2 to 7.8 divisions.
Repeat this step for channel B.
