Connecting Safety
Ground
It is not necessary to perform this procedure if you do not
intend to operate the 1269 at frequencies greater than 63Hz.
When operating the 1269 at mains frequencies between 47 Hz
and 63 Hz, use the Chassis (Safety) Ground connection to
connect the grounds of one or more instruments to the
mainframe. This ensures a common ground connection
between instruments.
WARNING
For your protection from electrical shock when
operating at mains frequencies greater than 63Hz,
connect the chassis safety ground terminal to
permanent earth ground. See Figure 2-12.

Connect a 16 AWG (1.3mm² or larger) wire to the 8-32
chassis (safety) grounding screw using a toothed
grounding lug. The wire insulation must be green with a
yellow stripe or non-insulated (bare).

Attach the opposite end of the wire to permanent earth
ground using toothed washers or a toothed lug.
