Oil changes
Change the oil in the oil-bath transmission after about
50 hours of initial operation; then change every 500
operating hours or every two years. Drain oil at the
outlet (
25/2
) when warm and with the implement tilted
slightly.
To refill with oil, remove the rear transmission cover to
access the filler opening
(8/1
).
Spur gear casing
: The spur gears run in liquid lubri-
cating grease (little maintenance required). Check the
lubricant level weekly at the nozzle (
25/3
). It should
be about 2.5 cm above the bottom of the casing.
Perform the necessary checks while the transmission
is still warm and the implement level. Top up the lubri-
cant if the level is low (see below for quality specifica-
tions).
Add older, very viscous grease (which does not liq-
uefy when warmed) to transmission oil - approx. 3⁄4 l
per m of working width.

Replacement of knife tines
Fit the knife tines in such a way that they drag in the
direction of rotation (
27
= top view).
Clockwise rotation - 2 right-hand tines (”R”) anticlock-
wise rotation - 2 left-hand tines (”L”)
Left-handed tines have been punched with an addi-
tional letter ”L”.
Use original bolts for attaching the tines, inserting
from below and with the bolt-heads on the same side
as the knife tine.
Tighten with a torque wrench to 380 Nm.
Use RABID hard-coated rotating knife tines on rough
ground for considerably increased service life.

Replace tines only when the engine is
switched off and the ignition key has been
removed. Wear protective gloves and foot-
wear. Use suitable tools.
Quick-change system
Remove clip (
29/1
). Raise pin (
29/2
) until
the tine can be withdrawn from its mounting
(
29/3
). Fit a new tine, let the pin fall back, and
secure with clip again (
29/1
).
