Quadro6L/4L Manual I: Installation Guide
Step 2: Configuring the Quadro
ports of the Quadro for the specified country. Select the country where the Quadro is lo-
cated. If you do not find your country in the list, pick the closest in your timezone.
The Quadro obtains the correct time automatically over the Internet from a time server. If
you are not located in the US/Central standard time zone, you will need to change the
Timezone to your region.

Emergency and PSTN Access Code Settings
Fig. l- 21: Emergency and PSTN Access Code Settings page
You may enter your local specific emergency codes into the appropriate field. For example,
in the United States the emergency number is 911, whereas in Germany it is 112,110. This
setting will take effect for regular extensions if at least one FXO line is detached from the
SLA. In the default configuration (FXO lines are attached to SLAs), to call the emergency
number, press the SLA button on any IP phone connected to the Quadro and dial your con-
figured emergency code without any prefixes (see
Step 4: Making/Receiving Calls
). Calling
the emergency number is accomplished in the same way if FXO lines are not attached to
SLAs. But in this case you should use your extension buttons (Line1-Line3 on Aastra
phones, Programmable Button 1 -6 on snom phones by default).
Please Note:
If FXO lines are attached to SLAs, the emergency code specified on this
page will not work if the Blind Transfer to Extension service is activated with an empty
access code and three-digit extensions are used on the system. For more information on
the Blind Transfer to Extension Service, please see Manual II: Administrator’s Guide.
The PSTN Access Code is the prefix number you choose to dial to tell the Quadro to “make
this call over PSTN” (see
Step 4: Making/Receiving Calls
). Users in the United States will
usually choose 9 here. European users usually would want to enter zero (0). If you do not
enter anything into this field the currently configured PSTN Access Code will stay un-
changed.
Please Note:
By default all FXO lines are assigned to SLA lines to allow direct access to
PSTN network (see
Step 2-B: Using Key System Emulation
). Therefore, in the default con-
figuration dialing the Access Code to access the PSTN network is not required.
