15.12.2 PRX Command
The Test Panel can be used to track communications on any serial or Ethernet port.
Since the output on the display may be difficult to read due to the communication
speed, it may be necessary to save the data in a file (recording file), which can be
examined later.
The following test panel commands allow testing at specific ports:
Command
Port Monitored
PRX 2
RS232
PRX 3
Fiber
PRX 4
RS485
PRX 6
IRIG-B
NOTE
Over a Remote test panel connection, this command will continue to update
the screen after the 5 minute inactivity timeout has elapsed. When you
attempt to exit from this command (by pressing Enter), you will be prompted
to re-enter a valid username and password combination.

The Test Panel will display the messages between the Master and RTU Port #1 in
hexadecimal format:
02<a84b00a6
02>25a24b00d4060000d03600000ba56000098760000d496000dcb6000090d600

02<a80b0098
02>01aa0b0082
“02” indicates port number 2
“<” indicates messages received by the ePAQ from the Master.
“>” indicates messages sent from the ePAQ to the Master.
* indicates some data was dropped from the display because the communications
channel is operating at a data rate higher than can be displayed through the test-
panel (PRX only)
The meaning of the data is protocol dependent.
