MTT Crunch Bench
Intended use
Compass
®
MTT Crunch Bench is designed for muscular stabilization of the ventral
musculature/abdominal musculature.
Application
It is trained in the supine position, the legs are fixed in a 90° position on the lower leg pad. The leg
length can be individually adjusted by adjusting the lower leg pad by means of locking bolts on the back
of the device. A grab handle helps when getting on and off the machine. The back padding can be
adjusted according to the patient's training condition. To adjust, pull out the locking bolt under the pad
and bring the back pad into the desired position. An increasingly vertical adjustment facilitates the
exercise; if the backrest is lowered, the demand on the muscles involved increases. Due to the convex
shape of the backrest pad, the abdominal muscles are trained from a pre-stretching position. The lower
back should always remain in contact with the pad during the exercise. The pelvis can be fixed to the
device with the help of the safety belt attached to the side of the device. The arm position is independent
of the patient's performance status. In order to optimally stabilize the shoulder girdle during training,
the arms are held turned outwards next to the torso. If the patient is in a very good training condition,
the arms can also be held next to or behind the head. Tensile stress on the cervical spine must be avoided
at all costs. If training is to take place only in the restricted range of motion, the back pad is placed in an
upright position in order to reduce the angle between the trunk and the legs, depending on the patient's
training condition.
