10 Introduction
10.1 Scope of supply


Note: where equipment is supplied with a connecting plug, suitable connecting cables are not
included in the supply. Please order the required cables separately in the length you desire.
10.2 Area of application
The LM_ 100 is specially designed for industrial use. It is suitable for the detection of hot and cold
objects and may be used for general applications. Due to its insensitivity to radiation from other
sources, the LM_ 100 can be used for material distance measurement also in furnaces.
Thanks to its sturdy construction in compact stainless steel housing, the LM_ 100 can operate even
under harsh ambient conditions. A distance range of up to 500 m can be achieved (see 4.3
– Distance
range).

Proxitron Laser distance sensors are available in different versions. Please refer to the equipment
label or to the appropriate datasheet for details of the specific equipment.
11.2 Connection
Two plugs are available on the LM_ 100
5-pole plug S4 (M12 x 1), with RS485 interface for parameterization via software
