18. Plug connector 4a back into connector 5a. See diagram 2.
19. Remove the cover from the S-drive controller (7). See
diagram 3.
20. Unplug connector 5b from connector 7a. See diagram 2.
21. Measure resistance across pin 2 and pin 8 on connector
5b. See figure 25.
— If your multimeter indicates about 5k ohms, then go to
the next step.
— If your multimeter indicates an open, then replace the
front-to-rear interface harness (5) and retest the system.
22. Measure resistance across pin 1 and pin 8 on connector
5b. See figure 26.
— If your multimeter indicates about 12.5k ohms, then
replace the S-drive controller (7) and retest the system.
— If multimeter indicates an open, then replace the front-
to-rear interface harness (5) and retest the system.
BEEP CODE #8 - Motor Disconnected
Diagnosis:
!
Motor is not functioning properly.
!
Controller is not functioning properly.
Solution:
Use the following procedure to determine the source of the
fault.
1. Separate the front and rear halves of the scooter. Refer to
the owner’s manual.
2. Measure resistance across pin 1 and pin 2 on connector
8a. See diagram 2 and figure 27.
— If your multimeter indicates about 0.5 — 1.5 ohms, then
go to the next step.
— If your multimeter does not indicate about 0.5 — 1.5
ohms, then replace the motor (8c) and retest the system.
3. Reassemble the scooter.
4. Remove the main shroud. See figure 8.
5. Remove the cover from the S-drive controller. See diagram 3.
6. Unplug connectors 10b and 10c from connector 7d. See
diagram 2.
7. Measure resistance across connectors 10b and 10c. See
figure 28.
— If your multimeter indicates about 0.5 — 1.5 ohms, then
replace the S-drive controller (7) and retest the system.
— If your multimeter indicates an open, then replace the
motor interface harness (10) and retest the system.
