Connection of signals from the process control system
The following signals must be prepared in the process control system and connected to the
IoT Box:
Signal
Description
Details
Motor current
Analogue signal: 4 to 20 mA
PCS output signal
Current measurement of the bucket elevator’s
main drive.
Level Switch
Digital signal (on/off): 0 / 24 VDC
PCS output signal
Signal of the
level switch in the elevator’s
boot
which acts as overfill indication.
A “0” means overfill, a “1” means no
overfill.
Speed Switch
Digital signal (on/off): 0 / 24 VDC
PCS output signal
Signal monitoring the turning of the elevator
’s
belt.
Straight run
warning
Digital signal (on/off): 0 / 24 VDC
PCS output signal
A belt bucket elevator typically has 4 drift
switches to monitor the straight running of the
belt on the drive and tension drum.
If one of the signals is
indicating a drift a “0”
shall be send to the IoT box. If there is no drift,
the signal shall be
“1”.
IoT Box warning
Digital signal 0 / 24 VDC
PCS input signal
Signal indicating a failure of the IoT Box
1 = all good
0 = IoT more than 12 hours offline
Machine warning
Digital signal 0 / 24 VDC
PCS input signal
Signal indicating a machine warning from
prediction or anomaly.
1 = all good, 0 = warning
Shall not trigger an interlocking but an
inspection of the elevator.
