4.7. Oscillator frequency setting
The device allows manual adjustment of the oscillator
frequency. If the calculated rate is observed as to low
on a correctly running clock, the crystal frequency must
be set higher (about 185Hz per 1s / day). Conversely, if
the calculated rate is to high compared to the reality,
the crystal frequency should be set lower.
4.8. Oscillator Oven
The frequency of the clock oscillator of the unit varies
depending
on
the
room
temperature.
If
the
measurements have place at room temperature, this is
negligible. However, to ensure maximum measurement
accuracy, a oscillator oven keeps the temperature of
the oscillator and thus its oscillation frequency constant. The temperature of the oscillator
can be followed on the display. The oscillator oven can be switched on on off. When the
oven is switched on, the green LED lights up. The heating-up phase is additionally indicated
by the flashing of the yellow LED. Oscillator oven is switched of in battery mode.
