Redundant CBP Operation:
The Redundant CBP controls protect the critical load against power losses caused
by CBP breaker close failures during manual or automatic operations.
1.
Redundant CBP operations can be recognized by an alarm condition at the
SSBM and the following breaker conditions:
CBP
Open
CBS
Open
FBP
Open
MIS
Closed
MBP
Closed
2.
Once Redundant CBP operation has occurred, the SSBM should be isolated
to allow CBP breaker maintenance without impact on the system’s critical load.
To achieve SSBM isolation and to exit from Redundant CBP operation, turn the
SMB key switch to the left (TO MAINTENANCE) momentarily. This action will
open the UPS system’s MIS breaker and place the UPS system fully into
Maintenance Bypass
mode.
Note:
If the CBP breaker failure can be repaired without SSBM isolation,
complete the CBP repairs and then, proceed to step 3 below.
3.
After the CBP breaker has been repaired, the UPS system can be transferred
from
Maintenance Bypass
mode to
Bypass
mode as described above.
