Operation
Side scrubbing unit (Fig. 13/1)
In order to complete work close to walls,
a pivoting side scrubbing unit, available
on option, can be installed at the front
right, refer to Section 3.1.10.
3.1.2 Squeegee
(Fig. 13/3)
The squeegee, which projects at the
sides, is fixed to the scrubber drier so
that it can pivot and swing. This enables
it to evade obstacles in the current track
and pivot back. Its strong suction ca-
pacity ensures the waste water is vacu-
umed up fully even on uneven floors
and in bends, leaving the floor dry
enough to be walked on. The squeegee
must be checked prior to starting work,
when disposing of waste water and/or
filling the fresh water tank and cleared
of any foreign bodies which have been
vacuumed up.
Check that the sealing strips are in per-
fect condition. The rollers serve to sup-
port the squeegee to prevent excessive
bending of the sealing strips. The
squeegee is automatically raised when
reversing.
3.1.3 Suction turbines (suction)
(Fig. 14/3)
The two suction turbines are located on
the rear panel of the fresh water tank
and can be accessed after opening the
rear doors. The suction turbines are
switched on and off automatically when
lowering and raising the squeegee, re-
spectively. A float switch in the recovery
tank switches the suction turbine off au-
tomatically on reaching the maximum
fill height.
3.1.4
Pre-sweep/Vacuum unit op-
tion
(Fig. 16/1)
The optional pre-sweep/vacuum unit
sweeps up dirt in dry areas in front of
the scrubbing unit without swirling up
dust. In this case, the two side brushes
sweep the dirt directly in the track of the
rotary brush. The side brushes sweep
up the dirt from corners and edges so
that it is not necessary to drive too close
to shelves, walls, machines, etc. and a
driving clearance to allow steering can
easily be maintained. The rotary brush
then sweeps the dirt forwards into the
dirt hopper. The fine dust swirled up by
the rotary brush is drawn up by the ex-
tractor fan and fed to the filter element.
Only clean air is blown from the ma-
chine. The Admiral 40 D pre-
sweep/vacuum unit complies with dust
category U (BIA). The pre-sweeping
and vacuuming system and the filters
are easily accessible for maintenance
tasks.
