TROUBLE SHOOTING
WARNING! Be sure that the trigger / power switch is in the OFF position, and the tool is unplugged from its
power source before attempting inspection or repair.

Tool does not turn on.
No power at the outlet.
Check the outlet by testing a different
electrical appliance known to work.
Damaged power cord on the
electric shear.
Check the condition of the power cord.
Broken trigger / power switch on
the electric shear.
If the electric shear still does not operate,
take it to a qualified service technician
for repair.
Burnt out electrical brushes in the
electric shear.
Tool operates slowly.
Incorrect voltage at the
power outlet.
Confirm that the outlet delivers the
correct voltage.
Damaged or dirty cutting blades.
Examine the cutting blades for
obstruction, dirt or wear.
Damaged or worn
electrical brushes.
If the problem persists, take the electric
shear to a qualified service technician
for repair.
Tool does not cut satisfactorily.
Dirty, damaged or dull blades.
1. Remove and clean the blades.
2. If simple cleaning does not repair
the problem, take the electric
shear to a qualified service
technician for repair.
NOTE: A qualified repair technician should perform motor repair work including replacing the electrical brushes.
