1. General
1.1 Applications
NF802 can simulate the MU based on IEC61850-9-1, IEC61850-9-2 or IEC60044-7/8 to
transmit SMV. It can also simulate the low level signal transmitted by current/voltage
transformer to output analog parameters. By GOOSE subscription and publish and binary
output hard contact information, it can make closed-loop test on digital relays. The tester will
pack the voltage and current based on IEC61850 and transmit to the test object. The
operation signal of test object will transmit to the tester by binary input contact or GOOSE
message. The tester changes the amplitude and phase of output values, by the ways of
certain testing, to realize the closed-loop test of digital relays and other intelligent device.
NF802 has 12 channels of low level signal outputs. The analog output channel can be
flexibly configured. Users can choose the voltage/current channels based on the actual
substation.
1.2 Design purpose
The software PowerTest for NF, working in WindowsXP, Vista and Win7, controls the tester’s
output. The NF802 is connected with the PC via 10/100M Ethernet port.
The ways to test relays with NF802:
1) Method 1: the output voltage/current is digital (the format of IEC61850-9-1,
IEC61850-9-2, FT3).
2) Method 2: the output voltage/current id digital (the format of IEC61850-9-1,
IEC61850-9-2, FT3), the status parameters tripping are transmitted by GOOSE.
3) Method 3: the output voltage/current is low level signal. The binary input/output is
connected via hard contact.
4) Method 4: the output voltage/current is low level signals. The binary input/output is
transmitted by GOOSE message.
