Operation

Starting the Engine

The engine can be started when the transmission is in neutral, or while in gear if the clutch is 

disengaged. If starting a warm engine, do not use the choke.
Fuel is injected into the intake passage each time the throttle lever is depressed. Do not 

depress the throttle lever while starting the engine. Do not depress the throttle lever when the 

engine is stopped.

NOTICE:

Operating the ATV immediately after starting could cause engine damage. Allow the engine 
to warm up for several minutes before operating.

1. Shift the transmission to neutral.
2. Lock the parking brake. Turn the 

fuel valve on.

3. Sit on the vehicle. Disengage the 

clutch.

4. If the engine is cold, pull the 

choke knob out until it stops. Do 

not use the choke if starting a 

warm engine.
