5.1 Software description
The MDB-2F/MDB-4F Is controlled by a PLC with the
following software functions:
1. Start/Stop Fan manually activated by push button on
cabinet front. The stop function has a delay of 1 second.
2. Start/Stop Fan activated by an external switch or remote
control. The stop function has a delay of 2 minutes.
3. Automatic main filter cleaning. This function is triggered
in the following cases:
MDB-2F/2X
Filter cleaning while the fan is running, online cleaning
If the pressure drop across the filter reaches 900 Pa, the
cleaning cycle will start and continue until the filter pressure
drop is below 700 Pa.
Filter cleaning without fan running, offline cleaning
Offline filter cleaning will be performed when fan stops and
based on level of pressure drop different numbers of pulses
will be activated as below:
- 700 Pa, 2 pulses per filter cartridge.
- 800 Pa, 4 pulses per filter cartridge.
- 900 Pa, 6 pulses per filter cartridge.
Manual filter cleaning
If the Reset Alarm button is pushed for 5 seconds, a cleaning
cycle (2 pulses per valve) will start.
Alarm
If the pressure drop stays above 1400 Pa for more than one
hour, an alarm will sound as indication to replace the filters.

Filter cleaning while the fan is running, online cleaning
If the pressure drop across the filter reaches 1000 Pa, the
cleaning cycle will start and continue until the filter pressure
drop is below 800 Pa.

hour, an alarm will sound as indication to replace the filters.
The PLC has two counter functions:
1. Hours in operation after last maintenance or first start-up.
2. Number of cleaning pulses given after last maintenance or
first start-up.
The PLC will trigger an alarm in case of:
1. The overload relay is activated.
2. At moment of cleaning absence of compressed air.
3. The filter is clogged.
The alarm can be switched off by pushing the reset alarm
function.
