Appendix B: Error Messages

This appendix gives a description of errors that may be generated using PlexTools
Professional.

Errors During Installation

No valid version of PlexTools Professional found. Upgrade aborted

This error may occur when an attempt is made to upgrade PlexTools Professional but
no previously installed version can be found.

•

If there is no previously installed version, please install the full product first.

•

If you get this error when a previous version is installed, your installation may be
defective or corrupted. You should first try to re-install the older full version, and
after that install the upgrade.

Errors on Startup

No ASPI layer was installed or it is not working

This error may occur on two occasions:
1. If ASPI software is already present, it may be defective, corrupted or obsolete. In

this case, you may try to repair or upgrade it to the latest version. The
manufacturer of your SCSI controller is the first source for all device drivers and
ASPI software to be used with this controller.

2. The system has no SCSI controllers, but has only IDE adapters installed that are

controlled by an older version of the ASPI software. In this case, you may try to
repair or upgrade the ASPI software to the latest version.

There is a current installable version of ASPI available on your PlexWriter Premium
application CD..
