PlexTools Professional Reference Guide

Multimedia File Types

The MCI device list can be extended by installing the latest version of Windows
Media Player from Microsoft. Some of the possibilities are:

•

All supported formats

: Can play the most common audio and video files

available.

•

Video for Windows

: Plays AVI Video files.

•

MIDI sequencer

: Plays MIDI files.

•

Sound

: Plays audio WAV files as recorded by Digital Audio Extraction tools.

•

MP3 files

: Plays compressed audio files.

•

MPEG files

: Plays video files that are compressed using the MPEG specification

(e.g. VideoCD).
