Playing and copying music
(Jukebox)
The Jukebox featu r e allows you to use the
r eco r de r ’s HDD to sto r e and p layback music
f r om you r CDs. WMA/MP3/MPEG-4 AAC
files r eco r ded on CD-R/-RW/-ROM discs,
DVDs o r USB devices can also be co p ied to
the HDD.
Copying music to the HDD
The fi r st ste p is to co p y some music to the
HDD. CD audio, WMA, MP3 and
MPEG-4 AAC files a
r e co p ied at high s p eed.
Usually, each t r ack on a CD o r DVD is
catego r ized and co p ied onto the HDD on the
basis of info r mation on a r tists and albums.

Note that once co p ied to the HDD, audio
t r acks cannot be co p ied to a r eco r dable DVD
disc.
Important
• While co p ying, no othe r r eco r de r
o p e r ation is p ossible.
• When co p ying, scheduled time r
r eco r dings will not sta r t until co p ying is
com p lete.
• Co p y pr otected CDs may not co p y
successfully.
1 Load the CD/DVD you want to copy
to the HDD or connect the USB device.
2 Display the Home Menu.
3 Select ‘Jukebox’.
4 Select the location of the files
you want to copy.

When an Audio CD neve r befo r e p layed
on the r eco r de r is loaded, the r eco r de r
automatically sea r ches fo r the titles on
that Audio CD (see

files f r om a USB device onto the HDD.
5 Display the command menu

1 • U p to 50 000 t r acks can be c r eated in the Jukebox. (You can c r eate u p to 50 000 a r tists/albums in total.)
• Sound quality is not wo r sened when you co p y data f r om anothe r sou r ce.
• When p laying back an album co p ied f r om a sou r ce whose o r iginal audio t r ack p lays continuously (such as a
live r eco r ding), the r e will be a b r ief p ause in sound between t r acks.
• Audio CDs a r e classified acco r ding to the info r mation in the G r acenote database.
• WMA/MP3/MPEG-4 AAC files a r e classified acco r ding to the info r mation included in the files. T r ack names
may diffe r f r om the names of the o r iginal files.
• De p ending on the name of the o r iginal folde r and t r ack, the a r tist and album unde r which the folde r o r t r ack
is classified may diffe r .
