The Disc Navigator screen
The Disc Navigato r sc r een is whe r e you can
edit video content on unfinalized Video mode
and DVD-R/-RW (VR mode) discs, DVD+R/
+RW and DVD-RAM, as well as video
content on the ha
r d disk d r ive.
Important
• Titles that have been r eco r ded with a
In p ut Line System setting diffe r ent to the
cu rr ent setting of the r eco r de r a r e shown
in the Disc Navigato r with a blank
thumbnail image. See also Additional
information about the TV system settings
on p age 151.
• Du r ing r eco r ding, if you dis p lay the Disc
Navigato r fo r the HDD, some of the titles
may a pp ea r with a ma r k. These titles
we r e r eco r ded with a In p ut Line System
setting diffe r ent to the cu rr ent setting of
the r eco r de r . Du r ing r eco r ding, these
titles cannot be p layed.
1 Select the HDD or DVD.
2 Display the Disc Navigator
screen.
Playback will automatically sto p when you
do this.
• The Disc Navigato r is also accessible
f r om the Home Menu.
• P r ess to dis p lay the command
menu p anel. Use the
/
and
ENTER
buttons to navigate the menus.
• When in the title list, pr ess to
dis p lay the pr evious/next p age if the r e
a r e mo r e titles than can be dis p layed.
• P r ess to change the title
info r mation dis p layed in the title list.
• P r ess to switch between the
HDD and DVD Disc Navigato r sc r eens.
• If you a r e editing a DVD-R/-RW (VR
mode) o r DVD-RAM disc you can dis p lay
the Play List by selecting Play List f r om
the view o p tions p anel ( pr ess

, then
select Play List f r om the view o p tions,
then
Play List
).
3 Press to exit the Disc Navigator.
Editing accuracy
Some editing commands ask you whethe r
you want to kee p Video mode com p atibility
o r f r ame accu r acy (
Video Mode Compatible
Editing o r Frame Accurate Editing ).
F r ame Accu r ate Editing is ve r y pr ecise. The
edit p oint is accu r ate to the exact f r ame you
choose. Howeve r , this accu r acy is not
pr ese r ved in any co p y you make if you use
the high-s p eed co p y function to make a
DVD-R/-RW (Video mode) o r DVD+R/+RW.
Video Mode Com p atible Editing is less
pr ecise. The edit p oint you choose will only
be accu r ate to within one-half to one second.
On the othe r hand, these edit p oints will be
pr ese r ved if you use high-s p eed co p y to
make a DVD-R/-RW (Video mode) o r
DVD+R/+RW.
