Safety regulations
• The unit may only be installed and commissioned by a competent,
qualified electrician who is familiar with this operating manual and the
basic regulations concerning health and safety/accident prevention.
Follow all VDE and local regulations, inparticular those regarding
preventive measures as well as fire prevention regulations
• Transport, storage and operating conditions in accordance with
EN 60068-2-6, 04/95 (see Technical Data)
• When the unit has reached the end of its lifecycle, dispose of it carefully
and according to any relevant environmental regulations
• Install the unit in a control cabinet with protection type IP 54
• Keep the slots in the housing free so the unit is sufficiently ventilated
• The unit may only be connected as shown in the diagrams in the section
“Commissioning” on page 6
• If you are using the unit to replace the P4B 3NK brake unit, please note
that the connections on the two units are not compatible. When
connecting the unit you must refer to the table under “Commissioning”,
otherwise the unit may be destroyed.
• No harmful emissions are produced should the unit catch fire or burn.
Intended application
The mini braking unit provides a controlled, soft braking of 3-phase
asynchronous motors and has been designed specifically for this purpose.
The use of this unit for any other purpose is seen as an improper
application.
The device is designed for use in industrial environments only. It is not
suitable for use in a domestic environment as this can lead to
interferences.
All claims to warranty and liability will be rendered invalid if
• The unit was used contrary to the purpose for which it was intended
• Damage can be attributed to not having followed the guidelines in the
manual
• The housing was opened,
• Any components were changed or any technical or electrical
modifications were carried out.
