4.4.1 CO

-/RH%-control
• The plant must be configured with a
CO
2
sensor.
• The CO
2
sensor may be fitted either as
a room sensor or as a duct sensor in
the extract air duct.
Optional accessories for needs-based
operation
Intelligent air quality sensors with a
surface-mounted housing are available
as optional accessories. The sensors
help to control a needs based ventilation
in living and working spaces.
The air volume flow can be controlled via
the sensors (see table)
Needs-based operation via the CO
2
and/
or humidity sensor module only func-
tions in automatic mode and must be
activated via the PC software.
A maximum of 10 sensors can be con-
nected, with the highest value for each
fan speed is used.
The assignment of the fan speeds, the
ppm and humidity values can be chan-
ged via the intregrated web server.
Electrical connection of the sensors:
24 Vdc
Temperature range of the sensors:
- 20 bis + 60 °C
4.4.2 Fan optimiser
• Supply air and extract air fans are con-
trolled by fan optimiser signals from
the supply and extract air ducts.
• The fan optimiser signal (infinitely
variable) is connected to the analogue
input.
• The plant must be fitted with 2 sepa-
rate fan optimisers – one each in the
supply and extract air ducts.

PI optimisers

• GreenZone modules control demand-
driven ventilation (CO
2
, RH%, tempera-
ture) of the individual zones (rooms)
• GreenZone Master will optimise the air
flow based on real time required air
volumes in the individual zones
• Plug and Play System
PI zone modules (in rooms/zones) and PI
optimisers together with flow regulators
will adjust fan speeds as required to
save energy. This will guarantee optimal
plant operating points. Fan speeds may
also be controlled depending on CO
2
/
RH%/temperature content. This will
require a relevant sensor in either the
ambient or extract air ducts.
The Pichler Air2 system offers several
options for networking into a higher
level building automation system.
• Integrated web server
• Modbus RTU
• Modbus TCP/IP
• BACnet
• LON
The corresponding bus connection will
be activated/parameterised ex factory
on customer request.
