Hardware Compatibility
All of the signals available on the eGrabber-2 are also available at
the same sockets and contacts on the eGrabber-4plus. Connector
cables previously used for the eGrabber-2 can also be used for the
eGrabber-4plus.
With the eGrabber-4plus some signals have been added to pin
header row X3. The pin header row therefore has 6 additional
pins when compared to that of the eGrabber-2. If you should
choose to implement the eGrabber-4plus in an existing application
as a substitution for an eGrabber-2, you can simply remove the last
6 pins from the pin header row X3. The first 20 pins are identical
to those of the eGrabber-2 and you can power it with the same
power adapter.
In order to make it easier for you to remove the pins, those pis that
are compatible with the eGrabber-2 have a white border around
them.
One of the main differences between the eGrabber-4plus and the
eGrabber-2 is that the SMB-Sockets P3 and P4 have been
removed. Previously it was possible to feed in an S-Video signal
via these sockets. This function is now taken over by the Mini-
DIN-Socket X4
Two pins have been altered on the expansion connector
(Option Port, X6) (see Table 14).
