Before Using
Read the instructions carefully. They
contain important notes for the use,
safety and maintenance of the
appliance. Keep them in a safe
place and transfer them to a
possible succeeding user.
Only use the appliance for the
purpose mentioned in these
instructions.
When using pay particular attention
to the following safety advice.
Safety Advice
●
Only connect the appliance to
alternating current - with a rated
voltage according to the rating
plate - to a correctly installed
earthed socket. Cord and plug
must be completely dry.
●
Unwind the cord completely from
the socket.
●
Do not leave the appliance
unattended during use.
●
Do not pull the connection cord
over sharp edges or jam it, do not
allow it to hang down and protect it
from heat and oil.
●
Do not place the appliance onto
hot surfaces, e.g. hot plate, etc. or
near open flames.
●
Do not pull out the plug by the cord
or touch it with wet hands.
●
Children are not aware of the
dangers that can be caused by
electrical appliances.
Therefore never leave the
appliance unattended during use.
●
If the following happens
do not
use
the appliance and
unplug
it
immediately:
- the appliance or the mains cable
is damaged
- any defect after the appliance has
accidently dropped or something
similar is suspected.
In these cases have the appliance
repaired.
●
Caution:
The appliance will
become hot during use. Scalding
danger due to escaping steam! For
handling only touch handles and
control button.
●
Disconnect the appliance in these
situations:
- any malfunction during operation
- prior to cleaning and maintenance
- after use.
●
Allow the appliance to cool down
before carrying or storing.
●
Do not immerse the appliance in
water.
●
In the case of misuse, wrong
handling or incorrect repair no
liability will be taken for possible
damages. Claims under guarantee
are also excluded in such cases.
●
The appliance is not designed for
commercial purposes.
Putting into operation
Before first use clean the baking
surfaces with a damp cloth and
some detergent. Unwind the cord
completely and put the plug into the
socket. Before baking let the appli-
ance heat up.
WA 10, WA 11, WA 13
Set the thermostat to the upper third
of the temperature range, the red
control lamp switches on and the
wafflemaker starts to heat. After a
short time the red light switches off.
This indicates that the appliance is
ready for baking. For the
WA 10
the
green lamp indicates that the
appliance is ready for baking.
WA 12:
After 5 to 10 minutes the baking
temperature is reached.
During first application the waffle-
maker might produce some smoke.
This is normal.
Baking
Before using the appliance for the
first time grease the baking surfaces
slightly. Fill the thickish batter into
the middle of the bottom mold and
close the lid immediately. By
pressing the two handles together
for a short time, the batter spreads
over the mold evenly.
WA 10, WA 11, WA 13:
After a short time the red lamp will
be illuminated again - the appliance
starts heating again. When the
baking is finished the red control
light switches off.
For the
WA 10
the green lamp will
be illuminated in that case. Now
open the wafflemaker and take out
the waffle. If the waffle is too pale
choose a higher temperature setting,
if it is too dark choose a lower set-
ting.
WA 12:
Open the appliance for a short time
in order to check the browning
degree. The baking time is approxi-
mately between 1
1
/
2
and 3 minutes.
This depends on the desired brow-
ning and the recipe used.
The very first waffle should not be
eaten.
Cleaning and maintenance
After use unplug the appliance and
let it cool down. Never immerse the
appliance in water or clean it under
water. Clean the baking molds with a
soft brush while they are still warm.
Wipe the outside with a damp cloth
only and rub it dry afterwards.
Never use hard or sharp objects on
the non-stick baking surface. The
