Commissioning the PT-FCSD5000
Check that the heating water filling station has been installed properly in conjunction with a
pressure holding system:
1. Close the ball valves on both sides.
2. Connect the device to the mains supply via the power adapter (24 V) included in the
scope of delivery. The display is then illuminated. The display can be illuminated at any
time by pressing any key.
3. To enter the variables, press the ESC button for about 3 secs until the display for the
raw water conductance pulsates.
4. Enter the raw water conductance (from 100 – 1500 µS/cm in steps of 10 µS/cm) with
the help of the arrow keys. This input serves as a preview of the (theoretical) residual
capacity of the permasoft in use. Confirm with OK.
5. Select the permasoft capacity (5000, 18000 **, 28000) and confirm with OK. The treat-
ment capacity in litres is now shown on the display.
6. Select the permitted weekly refilling water quantity (10 -190 l/7d) in steps of 10 l, alter-
natively the refilling quantity monitoring can also be deactivated (display shows --).
Confirm with OK. This feature is for protection against larger leakages. If the preset
quantity is exceeded, an acoustic signal sounds and refilling is automatically stopped by
closing the solenoid valve.
7. Open the bleed valve on the underside of the filling station.
8. Open the ball valve on the inlet side until water runs out without bubbles.
9. Close the bleed valve.
10. Open the ball valve on the output side
11. If the difference between the set holding pressure and the pressure in the system
exceeds 0.3 bar, deionised water is added. The current flow rate in l/min and the
conductance of the deionised refilling water are shown on the display. In addition, the
conductance is shown by a traffic light for orientation.
12. If the solenoid valve was closed due to a parameter being exceeded, it can be opened
temporarily by confirming with OK. The refilling quantity and residual capacity param-
eters are thereby reset and the colour of the display changes back to white. If the red
LED is active, the valve only remains open until the next conductance measurement
has taken place. If the measured conductance is > 40 µS/cm (red LED off), the solenoid
valve closes again immediately.
** When filling for the first time in the case of the PT-PS18000 or PT-PS18000Alu, the refill
monitoring must be temporarily deactivated. In this case, the conductance measure-
ment is only activated after 250 litres have flowed, as the integrated pH value stabiliser
would otherwise influence the conductance measurement.
Relay control / pulse output
The device has a potential-free signal line (open collector, 3 V/0.1 A) for controlling a relay in
a BMS. The signal becomes active in parallel with the closing of the solenoid valve when the
theoretical permasoft capacity is reached, if the conductance of the refilling water exceeds
40 µS/cm or if the weekly permitted refilling quantity is exceeded.
In addition, there is a pulse output (open collector, 1 pulse/ltr; 3 V/0.1 A), via which the quan-
tity of the refilling water can be transmitted to a BMS or a radio module (e.g. Ista).
Setting the outlet pressure in the case of PT-FCS and PT-FCSD
Proceed as follows to set a different outlet pressure:
1. Close the shut-off valve on the inlet side of the system separator and on the outlet side of
the refilling unit.
2. In the case of the PT-FCS, make sure that the solenoid valve is open.
3. Relieve the pressure on the outlet side by opening the bleed valve, relax the compression
spring.
4. Turn the adjusting knob on the pressure reducer counter-clockwise (-) to the stop.
5. Close the bleed valve.
6. Slowly open the shut-off valve on the inlet side.
7. Turn the adjusting knob clockwise until the manometer displays the desired value.
8. Slowly open the shut-off valve on the outlet side.
