How to drain the cooling system
Warning! Do not drain the coolant while the engine is still hot and the system is under pressure because
dangerous hot coolant can be discharged.
1
Ensure that the machine is on level ground.
2
Remove the filler cap of the cooling system.
3
Remove the drain plug (A1) from the side of the cylinder block (below the rear of the high-pressure pump)
and the drain plug (B1) from the lubricating oil cooler in order to drain the engine. Ensure that the drain holes
are not restricted.
4
Open the tap or remove the drain plug at the bottom of the radiator in order to drain the radiator. If the radiator
does not have a tap or drain plug, disconnect the hose at the bottom of the radiator.
5
Flush the system.
6
Fit the drain plugs and the filler cap. Close the radiator tap or connect the radiator hose.
7
Renew the canister, part number 26550001, of the coolant filter.
Caution: The canister contains a corrosion inhibitor which is circulated around the cooling system as the
coolant passes through the canister. It is important that only the genuine correct Perkins canister is used.
