Replacing the Source

If there is a Recommended Action to replace the source in the Component Checks, you will

require the source replacement kit (part number L1390110). The kit contains a replacement

source and source-doubling mirror assembly, and a 2.5 mm hexagonal wrench.

To replace the source, the instrument must be switched on and you must be connected to

the instrument in Spectrum, Spectrum ES or AssureID software. You can start the Source

Replacement Wizard from the Adjustments Toolbox or, if the Component Checks identify

Source Failure as a problem, by selecting

Run Source Replacement Wizard

on the dialog.

NOTE:

In AssureID software, the

Adjustments Toolbox

is available from the

Configure

Instruments and Accessories

group on the Tools menu.

CAUTION

ATTENTION

The source element is brittle and can be broken if not handled properly.

Be careful when removing and installing the source.

Before starting the source replacement procedure, ensure that you have

the source replacement kit available to minimize the amount of time that

the source compartment is open.

from the Setup Menu in Spectrum software.

The Setup Instrument tabs are displayed.

Select the Setup Instrument Advanced tab and then click

Adjustments Toolbox
