Starting the run
Start the run by turning on the power supply. You can monitor the progress from the window (see Figure 20: Top
window to monitor the run on page 23).

Do not open the tray during an active electrophoresis run without switching off or pausing the power supply. Opening
the tray during running power causes your power supply to detect a "fault". That may cause a disturbance of the
running programme or in the worst case damage the power supply.
Note: Always switch the power supply to pause if the excess moisture is condensed inside the instrument. Blot any
excess water that may appear on the gel during the electrophoresis with a blotting paper.
Ending the run
Turn the power supply off.
Pull the tray to the outward position. Remove the gel from the cooling plate and process it according to the kit insert
instructions. After each run, the plate should be cleaned with water and toweled dry. Electrodes can also be monitored
for irregular conditions. It is good practice to wipe the electrodes with watered paper towel (lint-free) once a day. The
instrument is left in the idle position to dry and to prevent the electrodes from wearing (see Figure 21: Lid in idle
