56 . Spectrum RX I Getting Started Guide
Adjusting the Interferometer
The following procedure should be performed after the Spectrum RX I has
been left on overnight:
1.
At Ready For Next Command, press
monitor
.
The Monitor command line and soft keys appear.
2.
Press energy .
The display shown in Figure 20 appears. It has the following features:
• A bar graph. The greater the energy throughput, the longer the bar.
• A pointer at the right end of the bar. This indicates the greatest length
the bar has reached.
• A number above the bar. The number is in arbitrary units, related to
the amount of energy reaching the detector.

In the following steps you adjust the interferometer so that the energy is
maximized.
3.
Remove the two round inserts from the left-hand side of the top of the
main cover (Figure 21). To do this, push down the edge of the insert that
is near the back of the Spectrum RX I.
The front of the insert lifts up.
