System Requirements
NOTE:
Read the safety precautions at the start of this manual before you use
the Spectrum RX I. They contain important information.
Give attention to the following points before installing the Spectrum RX I.
Electrical Requirements
The Spectrum RX I can operate on an electricity supply at 50 or 60 Hz, and in
either of the ranges 100 to 120 V or 220 to 240 V, without any adjustment.
The Spectrum RX I requires two power sockets, one for the instrument and one
for the screen.
The power consumption for all versions of the Spectrum RX I is almost the
same, not exceeding 200 W.
The line supply must be within 10% of the nominal voltage.
If possible, do not connect the Spectrum RX I to supply circuits that have
heavy-duty equipment, such as large motors, connected.
If possible, do not use photocopiers, discharge lamps, radio transmitters, and
other equipment with large or frequent transient loads on the same supply circuit.
Site Requirements
Minimum bench dimensions of 110
x
80 cm to accommodate the Spectrum
RX I.
To obtain the best performance from your Spectrum RX I:
•
Place the Spectrum RX I in an environment that is relatively dust-free.
•
Make sure that the benchtop is free from vibrations or mechanical shocks.
•
Do not place the Spectrum RX I close to room heating equipment, for
example, central-heating radiators.
•
Leave at least 15 cm (6 inches) from any vertical obstacle to the sides of
the Spectrum RX I, to permit an adequate flow of cooling air.
•
Make sure that there are no overhanging shelves, and no water pipes or
faucets that could leak onto the Spectrum RX I.
•
If your Spectrum RX I has a disk drive, the work area must be free of strong
magnetic fields, direct sunlight, and heating or cooling units or ducts.
