Unpacking the Spectrum RX I
CAUTION
Do not switch the Spectrum RX I on until you have completed
the unpacking procedure. In particular, ensure that the shipping
bolts have been loosened, and the desiccant has been changed.
Your Spectrum RX I may be seriously damaged if you do not
follow these instructions.
Removing the Packaging
1.
Carefully remove the Spectrum RX I from the shipping carton, but not
from the bag in which it was shipped.
2.
If the shipping containers were stored in a cold area, leave the Spectrum
RX I in the bag overnight to reach room temperature. Even if the
shipping containers were stored at room temperature, the Spectrum RX I
must be left in the bag for a minimum of 4 hours.
The Spectrum RX I can be damaged by the condensation caused by
opening the bag before the Spectrum RX I has equilibrated to room
temperature.

Remove the Spectrum RX I from the bag and position it on the bench
where it will be used.

Open the sample compartment using the recess in the front edge of the
lid. The sample compartment lid lifts and pivots toward the back of the
Spectrum RX I.
5.
Remove the foam and desiccant bags and close the lid of the sample
compartment.
6.
Pull the front edge of the Spectrum RX I to the front edge of the bench
so that the locking screw on the lower front cover is accessible
(see Figure 1).
