A.4.3 Enabling Modem Low Power
When enabled for modem low power, the gateway is powered down except for the
following periods:
•
when the 831C SLM powers it on to send alert notifications
•
when the SLM sends a file to the cloud (SFTP, Dropbox, etc.)
•
During the scheduled awake period (System Properties

You can complete this process by using G4 LD Utility on a PC or the LD Atlas app for mobile.
If the system is deployed and you are using LD Atlas, you will need cellular service to
connect.

Step 1.
Launch G4 LD Utility on your PC.
Step 2.
Click on the name of your connected meter in the Meters Panel. This opens the
meter window on the left.

The gateway is connected by using the
SLM Logic Out via the AUX port. From

Logic Out
drop-down menu, select

In the
Wake Time
field, enter the time
of day the gateway will power on. Wake
Time should be local time for the NMS
system.
Step 7.
In the
Duration
field, select the length
of time after the Wake Time that the
gateway will be active. The Wake Time
plus the Duration defines a specific
period of each day, during which the
noise monitor can be remotely
accessed.
Step 8.
If you plan to enable alert notifications, select a time from the
Alert Timeout
drop-down menu. This is the amount of time the modem remains on after
sending an alert notification. This includes time to respond to an alert, if
