Cleanness during assembly
When working with hydraulic systems three basic rules must be observed.
•
RULE 1: CLEANNESS when assembling the hydraulic system.
•
RULE 2: CLEANNESS during every-day operation of the hydraulic system.
•
RULE 3: CLEANNESS during control and repair works.
Rule 1:
Cleanness when assembling the hydraulic system.
Hoses, tubes, and screw joints are never clean after adjusting and must therefore always be
cleaned immediately before assembly.
Tubes - also bent tubes – are cleaned using a ball of crepe paper or lint-free cloth which is drenched with
paraffin and put into one end of the tube. Then compressed air is blown through the tube.
Repeat this procedure with several balls until they are clean when they leave the tube.
If the tubes have been bent or welded, they must be cleaned by pickling with hydrochloric acid and
then rinsed with cold and warm water and dried.
If the tubes are not mounted and filled with oil immediately after cleaning, they must be greased with
hydraulic oil and plugged up, otherwise they will get rusty. Furthermore, remove the cover plugs on all
pumps, engines, valves, etc. only immediately before assembly.
