ONNECTORS
1. Master Power Button - Press the power button to turn the Smart
TV32 on, or to completely power-down the Smart TV32.
Turning off the Smart TV32:
The Smart TV32 features a Standby power mode that
quickly turns on and off the Smart TV32 during day-to-day
use. Use the remote control power button or the Standby
button on the front of the Smart TV32 to enter or exit
Standby mode.
If you use the main power button to power-off the Smart TV32,
it will not make programmed recordings while it is off and may
take several minutes to display a television image after being
turned on.
2. RCA Audio (Left/Right) - these audio connectors are activated
when Component In is used as the AV source.
3. Component In - Connect a device such as a set-top box or satel-
lite receiver with Component Out.
4. HDMI In - This connector carries both video and audio signals.
Connect a HDMI-compatible device such as a set-top box or sat-
ellite receiver.
5. SCART In - this connector links directly to the screen, allowing
you to add a games console or other device that may not function
correctly when used with Windows Media Center. Use the
Source button on the remote control to access this connector.
The Component video, HDMI and SCART In ports (above)
may be accessed by pressing the Source button.
6. AV In - this SCART connector links to Windows Media Center,
allowing you to use a set-top box or similar device with the tools
provided by the operating system.
7. 'IR Blaster' remote control connector. An IR signal received by
the Smart TV32 may be transmitted to a set-top box or similar
device using an IR blaster cable. Use the adhesive pad on the IR
blaster cable to attach the end of the cable to the IR window on
the device, which may then be hidden or installed in another
location.
8. Power connector.
Do not unplug the Smart TV32 without first using the Master
Power Button (1) to completely power-down the Smart TV32.
You risk losing important data or damaging the Smart TV if you
unplug it while it is on or in Standby mode.
Quality of Connections
If you wish to use a connection to connect a device to the Smart TV,
you can use one of the following configurations (not included)
starting with the best (in terms of quality) in descending order:
1. HDMI
2. Component Video
3. SCART (RGB)
4. S-Video
5. Composite Video
To ensure good performance and reduced radiation interference,
Packard Bell recommends that you use a shielded cable with a fer-
rite clip when connecting any accessories to your product
(Firewire VCR, USB camera, etc.).
