Tightening of bolted joints
All bolted joints should be inspected. At all times, before using the machine check that
the bolts that hold the blades on the top disc are secure and check them for wear,
and likewise check the bolts that hold the gliding plate on the drive shaft.
Blade replacement and sharpening
If the blades become worn or damaged, it may cause the machine to vibrate. Sharpen
worn blades and replace damaged blades.
⚠
Ensure that the machine is on a stable surface and is secure, so that the
blades can easily be reached and that the machine cannot move
unintentionally.
⚠
Exercise extreme caution when removing the blades. They are sharp. Protect
hands using work gloves.
⚠
The engine must be switched off and the spark plug lead disconnected before
the blades can be removed.
1.
Secure the cutting disc so that it cannot rotate. Remove the blade holder using wrench
no. 17 and Allen key no. 6.
2.
Remove the blade and sharpen. The angle should be 30
o
towards the outside edge.
⚠
If a blade is bent or shows signs of wear, all of the blades on the cutting disc
must be replaced!
3.
Check the blade holder for wear. If bolts or nuts are very worn, they must be replaced.
4.
Re-screw the bolts on the cutting disc and place the spacer, blade, cutting disc and fit
the nut.
5.
Tighten the nut while again holding the bolt. All of the blades must be able to move
freely on the bolts.
The blades are sharp on both sides. When one side is worn, reverse the blade, so that
the sharp edge can be used to cut the grass. When replacing a blade, replace all
damaged parts on the blade holder in the cutting disc.
