procedures will be easier to carry out if the machine is lifted onto a platform or
work surface.
•
Use only original spare parts and accessories.
•
Never modify the safety parts in any way. Check regularly that they function
correctly.
•
Never change the engine’s factory settings.
•
Clean and replace safety and instruction labels as required.
•
To protect the engine from overheating, the air filter must always be fitted and
kept clean.
•
If grass or other material has blocked the trimmer head, it must only be
removed with the machine switched off and the spark plug lead disconnected.
Residual risks
Even when the machine is used as prescribed, it is not possible to eliminate all
remaining risk factors. The following hazards may arise from the construction and
design of the machine:
Damage to hearing if effective hearing protectors are not worn.
Health damage due to vibration emissions if the machine is used for a long time or is
not adequately controlled and properly maintained.
Do not operate the machine for more than 20 minutes at a time. Take breaks of at
least 10 minutes. While taking a break, the user must not expose himself/herself to
other sources of vibration. The table below shows the maximum permitted daily
exposure, if the vibration load of 2.5 m/s

is not to be exceeded:
