Adjusting the cutting height
BE CAREFUL
Stop the engine before adjusting the cutting height. Wait until all moving
parts have stopped moving. Let the engine cool down and disconnect the
spark plug lead.
The height can be adjusted in the range 38-76 mm. The recommended cutting height
is 51 mm.
1.
Use the T-wrench provided to loosen the adjustment screws – see Figure 10.
Note, the two adjustment screws are on one side of the trimmer head. Both screws must be
loosened to change the cutting height.
2.
Push the trimmer head up or down to the desired cutting height.
3.
Retighten the two screws to 3.5-5 Nm.
Tips for grass trimming
WARNING
Material such as sticks, gravel and stones may be ejected from the machine
with such force that it can cause personal injury as well as material damage.
•
Set the throttle to FAST. The faster the engine runs, the faster the trimmer head will
rotate. If the vegetation is tall and heavy, push the machine forward more slowly.
•
Clean the machine regularly to remove accumulated grass. See the maintenance
schedule for details.
•
For best results and to ensure the trimmer cord has a long lifetime, let the tips of the
cord do the cutting – this is done by pushing the machine slowly through heavy
vegetation.
•
If the trimmer cord is too short, it will take longer to complete the cutting job. When
the trimmer cord is worn to half its length, it needs to be replaced. See how in the
“Maintenance” section.
•
Do not use the trimmer on very steep slopes. See the instructions later in this user
manual. If it is difficult to stand on the slope, do not use the machine on the slope.
Also, do not use the machine on slopes if the slope is slippery or wet. Operate the
machine across slopes, never up or down slopes.
