Connection of the P-LIGHT®
elektronics box
Use an RKKB cable for connection of
P-LIGHT®. To ensure full charging and
function, the wires between the trailer’s
coupling connector (to truck) and P-LIGHT®
terminals 3, 4 and 6 on the electronics box
must be Midi = min 1.5mm² / Maxi = min
2.5mm².
IMPORTANT: P-LIGHT® holds type approval
to ECE No. 10. For this to be valid, the
incoming cable connected to terminals 3-7
must be fitted through the installed ferrite
core, see picture on page 10. (not applicable
to Midi).
Recommended connection
LED bulbs of an approved variety are
recommended in order to provide the
best possible operating time. This is
recommended in particular if P-LIGHT® will
be used a lot during the shift or if the “winter
climate” often involves temperatures below
freezing. (-20°C reduces battery capacity by a
factor of 40-50%).
The laws of nature for current / voltage are
applicable for calculation of operating times
at different power takeoffs.
In a 24V system, 24 W (1 A) in load in
equivalent to approx.: 1 hour of operation/
battery Ah.
Midi has a 17 Ah battery, and with a 48 W
takeoff it gives an operating time of approx.
≈ 8h, 24 W ≈ 17h, 12 W ≈ 36h. Maxi has a
40 Ah battery, which is equivalent to 48 W
≈ 20h, 24 W ≈ 40h, 12 W ≈ 80h. (Applicable
to fully charged batteries in good condition
at +20°C).
Tighten the M8 screws to the lid by hand.
Max 8-10 Nm to avoid damaging the plastic
tray and sealing strip
